Renovation (Week 2)
Week 2 of our awesome house renovation is now over. We met with the architect and general contractor on Monday morning to discuss a few things that needed to be delt with.

The first was the "rodent problem". It turns out that sometime in the past we had rats because they found lots of rat droppings and rat carcasses in the attic. Yuck! We thankfully had no idea that they existed. Well, in order to make sure they were all gone and wouldn't come back we decided to have Innovac suck out all of the loose insolation in the attic and have professionals bleach and close up any openings in the attic to make sure the rats don't return.

The demo continued and the most amazing thing was seeing the bathroom the size that it will eventually be. They completely removed the closets from the master bedroom and bathroom so the space could be used for the bathroom.
This week they also started framing in the floors and ceilings in the kitchen and bathroom.

Notice that the load baring posts in the front and back of the kitchen have now been replaced by hoizontal beams. Note the graniness and weird light colors in the following photo. It was taken handheld with my f/1.4 lens at ISO 1600 in a very very dark room.

Gross about the rats!!! Remember the rat we had in the toilet in the basement on Stadium -- no, I think you had already moved to Seattle when that happened.
